What We Do

Innovation Partners is focused on harvesting new innovations born from the Texas A&M University and Health Science Center research community, evaluating and facilitating the commercialization process for the identified inventions to help usher technology from the lab to the marketplace. In coordination with Texas A&M System Technology Commercialization, Innovation Partners works to promote an innovative and entrepreneurial culture among the university research community, encouraging and welcoming the development of industry partnerships to expand opportunities for commercialization, further economic development, and ultimately impact the lives of people locally, nationally, and globally.

Our History

As part of the revision to System policy 17.01 in May 2019, Texas A&M University Innovation Partners, Innovation Partners for short, was assembled as the designated member commercialization office for Texas A&M University serving faculty and staff intellectual property creators within the following colleges and units.

Relation to the School of Innovation
(I-School)

Shortly following the System policy revision of May 2019, Innovation Partners became affiliated with the School of Innovation, connected by the leadership of Andrew P. Morriss who serves in a dual role at Texas A&M University as Dean of the School of Innovation and Vice President of Entrepreneurship and Economic Development. Innovation Partners is organizationally situated under the Office of Entrepreneurship and Economic Development.

Innovation Partners and the School of Innovation regularly collaborate to offer several co-sponsored resources and tools to the university community as well as co-host educational events related to innovation, tech transfer, IP, and commercialization.
